Xreal Air 2 supports common 3D formats like SBS (Side-by-Side) 3D.
- Download the 3D movies files directly to a compatible device (smartphone, laptop, or tablet) or to a storage solution that can interface with the Xreal Air 2.
How to download 3D movies
The resolution of the glasses is 3840x1080 pixels, so we recommend watching a 3D movie in this format. Many films on the site have the FSBS 3840x1080 format.
- Ensure your device has enough storage space, as 3D movie files can be quite large.
Connect Directly via HDMI
- If you have an Xreal Beam accessory or a compatible device that supports HDMI output, connect the Xreal Air 2 via an HDMI cable.
- This setup allows you to mirror or extend your device’s display onto the AR glasses, which is helpful for laptops or consoles with HDMI output.
Using the Xreal App on a Smartphone
- Install the Nebula or Xreal app on a compatible Android device (the app may not be available on iOS).
- Transfer the 3D movie files to your phone. Open the app, and you should be able to access and play these files directly on the Xreal Air 2.
Streaming from a PC
- If you’re using a PC, you can stream your movie to the Xreal Air 2 using an app like VLC Media Player.
- Connect the Xreal Air 2 via HDMI (with Xreal Beam) to extend the PC’s display onto the AR glasses.
- Set VLC to play in full-screen mode, and load your 3D movie file.
- If you have a Mac, Xreal have created a special player for viewing Spatial Cinema (it's a test player at the time of writing this guide)
Configuring 3D Mode
Once your movie is playing on the device and mirrored or extended to the Xreal Air 2:
- Open the Settings on your Xreal device.
- Look for a 3D Mode option and set it to either Side-by-Side (SBS), matching the format of your 3D movie.
- To switch your XREAL Air glasses to 3D mode,
press and hold the brightness '+' button. - This setting will make sure that your movie displays correctly in 3D.
Tips for an Enhanced Experience
- Battery Management: Using the Xreal Beam or other accessories can help extend battery life for longer viewing sessions.
- Audio: Use wireless earbuds or a connected audio device for better sound, as the Xreal Air 2 does not have built-in audio.
